House Boat-The Delaware Octopus

This band is too fucking good. Members of Steinways, Dear Landlord and The Ergs! and it’s just perfect. If you like any of those bands or pop-punk or music in general listen to it. It’s like the steinways are getting more serious. All the songs are great, Mikey erg and Zack from dear landlord sing on a couple songs, in fact all four members sing on one track. Don’t miss it! I don’t really have to say much more and don’t even think, just listen to it and enjoy.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

This is the first band I’m going to post from the constellation record label, but they are up there on my favorite band list. Not sure who to pick between godspeed and A Silver Mt. Zion but both are amazing and if you haven’t  listened before now is the time. Every song is at least ten minutes long, some as long as thirty minutes, but this does not mean it will bore you. Sometimes dark, sometimes uplifting, Godspeed will take you through so many emotions with their droning guitars, booming drums and beautiful violins among other instruments. Something good to fall asleep or drive to.

The Ergs!

The Ergs! Seriously one of the best bands I’ve ever had the privilege of listening to, but unfortunately gave up a chance to see them because I hadn’t listened to them at that point. Huge mistake. This is THE essential pop-punk band. I know no one can resist this band. If you don’t like pop-punk, listen to dorkrockcorkrod and it will all change. I only put up some of their discography, I’ll try to add more at a later time. Enjoy!

Amazing pop punk band from the mid 90’s into the early 2000’s. Sounds like Blink 182 or Weston at times. They were less serious on their earlier records then matured in the last couple releases. It’s all good though and “Monte Carlo” is definitely my favorite album. I think this is their whole discography.

Late 90’s early 2000’s post hardcore from Minneapolis. Sounds a lot like get up kids. Peppy stuff about girls and such.

Really awesome band from Norway. Music reminds of explosions in the sky at times so I obviously love it. One of the singers reminds me of the singer of Yaphet Kotto also. Beautiful songs, good for sleeping to or driving to or anytime really.

Awesome three-piece punk band from Reno. Singer sounds like Tom Gabel from Against Me! with some psychobilly influences it there. Really catchy, I’ve had them and mean jeans on rotation for the past couple days. I’m gonna go find their other albums now enjoy! Also I am new at this and can’t post the mediafire except through the picture I believe so click the picture for free music.
